  • John Bain

    Partner Bonnyrigg Property Shop A graduate of Cambridge and Edinburgh Universities, John has worked in Dunfermline for 20 years and is an experienced Sheriff Court practitioner. He is a registered criminal practitioner and is on the Sheriff Court panel receiving instructions to prepare reports in connection with children's welfare and mental health applications. His wide-ranging civil practice includes divorce and other family matters, damages claims, debt, bankruptcy and mental health issues.
  • Kenneth D Brydon

    Senior Partner Bonnyrigg Property Shop Senior Partner of Macbeth Currie, Kenneth has been in legal practice since 1976. He is based in the firm's Edinburgh office where his practice includes all aspects of property law (domestic and commercial Conveyancing, securities and leasing), advising small businesses, company secretarial work, wills, trusts and executries, Powers of Attorney, and Guardianship matters.
  • Kenneth Paterson

    Partner  Kenneth commenced legal practice in 1979. His initial involvement in Family Law matters and Court of Session litigation has developed into a general practice with particular emphasis now on property law - including marketing, sale and purchase, security work and company relocation transactions. In his role as the firm's Financial Services Partner Kenneth has had an increasing involvement in Compliance issues relating to Pension Transfers and Endowments.

    Property Manager/Valuer  Wendy originally joined Macbeth Currie back in 2006 as a receptionist in our Dunfermline High Street branch. Like many staff at Macbeth Currie Wendy left for a couple of years but was encouraged back in 2010 by Partner, Ken Paterson to work within the Property Department in Kinross. Wendy is now our Property Manager and heads up both our Kinross and Dunfermline Property Shops.

  • Duncan Philp

    Independent Financial Adviser Dunfermline Head Office Duncan Philp,Dip PFS, our Senior Independent Financial Consultant who is based in our Dunfermline main office. Duncan is also a Pension Transfer specialist with advanced pension qualifications, he also regularly contributes to Financial features in the press. He has the Statement of Professional Standing (PFS) which all Independent Advisers require to practice. Duncan is now an individual member of the Ethical Investment Association, one of only five (individuals/firms) currently in Scotland.

    Mortgage Adviser  Jim Lawson is our Financial Adviser who specialises in mortgages and related insurance products. He has over 20 years experience working with mortgages and he is able to provide advice and recommendation from the whole of the market. He can provide you with the right mortgage advice and help you select a mortgage product to suit your needs. Whether you are a first time buyer, next time buyer, a buy to let purchaser or looking to remortgage to free up equity in your property, Jim will be pleased to assist in all of these areas. He is also fully qualified in advising on equity release products which may assist you release some equity from your home, to help meet your needs in later life.

    Although Jim is based in our Bonnyrigg office he is more than happy to travel to meet at a time and place convenient to you.
